The Pain Never Goes Away

I was flicking through the cable channels earlier today and noticed that This Is It has made it to the Encore channel. I set a reminder and went about watching TV. The reminder came and went and I was busy so I didn't turn.

Finally I turned the channel and it happen to be on the part where Michael and that lovely young woman, who's name escapes me, were singing "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" This was one of my favorite parts of the movie. Mike was so pure, so clear it was just amazing.

I sat there watching and listening and felt my heart just flip flopping, that feeling you get when you are..in love. Then my throat just closed up and without warning I just broke down.

That's how it is when you lose someone you love. I hadn't spent any time with Mike recently, just been busy and then there he is giving me what I needed, making me feel Love (I've been on a Love kick lately). Healing what was going on inside me. I was so open at that moment and missing him in some weird kinda way (I say weird cause I did not know him personally)

It still behooves me that he really is not somewhere enjoying his children, or making music or based on what he was going to do - wrapping up his tour. He is just not here anymore.

Damn!

Let's get into this video.

Rest In Peace Elizabeth Taylor

1932-2011
You and Our Precious Michael are together once again

Elizabeth & Michael Moments

The relationship between icons Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson was undeniably a loving one. Here's a look back at the two on a number of red carpets, smiling and embracing one another as only close friends can do.

Taylor passed away early Wednesday morning, while it will be two years in June that Jackson died. Upon hearing about Jackson's passing in 2009, the actress tweeted that she was "too devastated" to speak about the King of Pop's death.

She later gave a statement about her dear friend that read in part: "My heart ... my mind ... are broken. I loved Michael with all my soul and I can't imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together. ... I still can't believe it. I don't want to believe it. It can't be so. He will live in my heart forever but it's not enough. My life feels so empty. I don't think anyone knew how much we loved each other. The purest most giving love I've ever known. Oh God! I'm going to miss him. I can't yet imagine life without him. But I guess with God's help ... I'll learn. I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, 'To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever.' And, I will love HIM forever."

Taylor passed away at 79. Jackson was 49.

Passion - A Photo Shoot

Yesterday, I had a unique opportunity to show via pictures my passion for Michael. A photography student needed to do a photo shoot and asked me to be one of her subjects. I wasn't quite sure what the whole look was going to be so I set up a table and got decked out in an MJ look:

Even though the pictures didn't end up featuring all of that stuff (too staged, lol) there were some poignant ones taken and the one she chose should blow you away when I finally get my hands on it completed.

The whole experience was so powerful for me because though I know folks give me the time of day - I always feel like it's because they love me or they just can't figure out how to tell me to shut up when it comes to Michael Jackson. So any little sliver of 'interest' moves me like you wouldn't believe and taking out some of my things sent me there and I had a moment. It just washed over me as the realization hit, yet again, that he is no longer here with us in the flesh.

I will certainly post the pictures when they become available.

February MJ Memorabilia Haul

February marked the official beginning of my 2011 Michael Jackson/Jackson Family Memorabilia Acquistion (it's ok you can laugh). I had to take all of January to kinda map out what direction I wanted to go in, make my list and just get focused (you certainly can laugh at that).

I am a collector and am not really concerned with where I get the collectibles, however, I do try to incorporate 'official' items from the estate into my collection. Overall, I go for things that move me, remind me of something about him and/or his Brothers (family) or just evoke a good vibe for me.

This collector year, I want to add some items that I have had at one time or another and don't anymore. Some things from my childhood etc. or things that coincide with some of the best years of me and Mike's life.

At the end of each month I will be sure to post a MJ Haul for that month!! For February, I have acquired some GREAT STUFF!! I am so excited!!

Destiny is one of my favorite albums by the Jacksons!! I could listen to it all day and night. I have such fond memories of that Album. Well now I have something special for me, with the acquisition of the DESTINY 8-TRACK, I now have this on Vinyl, Cassette, CD and now 8-track!!

Next I decided that I needed to flush out my print collection. I have some things but a lot of those things have been lost over the years. What a coup on this one. I scored:

Ebony Magazine, September 1979

Life Magazine, September 1984

This is significant because it signifies my HS Years AND that 1979 Ebony is just rare. There actually were 2 copies where one was going for $450K (yes you read that right) and a copy for several thousands of dollars, so to obtain this for under $30 was on the money!!! I haven't read them yet, but in skimming it's so interesting looking at what was going on in the world (since being a teenager, I wasn't paying attention to any of that, lol), the advertisements, fashion etc.

Finally, the official Michael Jackson Merchandising site, ran by Bravado is having a clearance and I scored these two shirts for $5 a piece. Now their XL is more like a Large so I'm going to have to lose like 5 more pounds so I can breathe in the shirts, but I'm up for the challenge - I expect to be rocking these by the summer!!

So that's it for February. Next Month I will be launching the craft portion of the MJ Season. I haven't quite figured out what I want to do in that arena. I need to add a few pages to my scrapbook that I forgot to put in. I might also make a few shirts - I want a MJ tank top. I'm on the lookout for another piece of clothing that is gonna set my soul on fire when they restock it sometimes in March/April AND I haven't even picked out my 2011 purse!!! This is gonna be a great year!!

Escapade!! I'm going to see Janet!

Whew let me fan myself! I have been meaning to put this out there, but just haven't had the whooha!

As you know, I have seen the Jacksons as a unit (the Brothers) three times. I was not lucky or blessed enough to partake of Michael in all his splendidness AND I had never been able to see Janet. Well that is all about to change!

March 29th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta GA - yours truly will be IN THE HOUSE!! I am soooo Excited!!

I think the prep for the concert is almost as hyped as the concert will be itself. So far I've only decided on what pants to wear, lol lol Must represent for the Pleasure Principal Era with the skin tight black pants. Now comes do I want to rock a hair style of Janet's or just rock a hair style 'inspried by' Janet, lol lol Decisions, Decisions

The whole event is exciting because it's my girls first official 'event', and the celebration of one of their birthday's as well. I might have to take a half a day off to get in the groove for this!!

I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!

Michael Jackson Money and Me

As part of my “If When I win the lottery” is what direction I want to go in concerning my passions. Well as we know, one of my main passions is Michael Jackson. The other day, when the Mega Millions was like Beyond your wildest dreams, everyone took a moment to think on what they would do with 250 million dollars. Well I did as well and since I already have all of my lottery plans pretty much set – I specifically thought about how I would indulge in my passion. Here are some of my MJ/Lottery Dreams:

My Office/Showcase: Mann the affordability of the new home would open up the area where I would totally showcase my current collection and future collectibles. I would have to do all of my crafts in that room, but the décor would so be Mike. I am going to need a couple of glass cases to showcase several things and I definitely will need some stand up posters of Mike. I can put up framed posters as well as original artwork I will track down and purchase. The ability to walk into a room and have my things out and ready to admire is a dream!

Acquisition of MJ Memorabilia w/o limits: Whew!! My first easy to reach place, of course, would be Ebay – but all of a sudden with the entry of wealth my REAL dream would come true. I’m going to Asia and get my MJ ONNN!! To stroll the streets of Japan and finding those marts/stores featuring some of the best stuff!! To be able to just whip out a card and pay for my hearts delight as well as being able to strategize my purchases, which I do now – just can’t get them, lol
AND FINALLY….

My Biggest Dream is to put together a solid, Michael Jackson Convention. With my own funding, I could really do it right. I see NY, Atlanta, Vegas and Los Angeles as the stopping points. I see vendors and contest and auctions and MJ Impersonator contests. I see roundtables to discuss his body of work. Viewing rooms for his videos, Game rooms. What I envision is basically Dragoncon for Mike – can you see it? I won’t go into specific details because I already know I’m a facilitator and I will lay it all out and somebody will steal or ‘discover’ my idea.
